Software Experts .NET has invested in state-of-the-art network and
server equipment to satisfy the most demanding web application solutions.
Our hosting services are provided through a hosting entity (wholly owned by
Software Experts .NET) called OAHosting . This
page lists out some significant features about the equipment used through our
hosting services. The capabilities inherent within this equipment (as
defined below) is extended to all Software Experts .NET customers/partners
through web application solution hosting agreements. See our
facilities section for information on network items like bandwidth,
backup power, facilities, etc. |

Firewall Protection
- Perimeter network protection with NAT translation and LAN network access
rules to ensure the first line of defense against external internet
intruders. Firewall appliances are configured to detect and eliminate any
malicious attacks prior to entering the internal LAN server environment.
This provides a level of insulation for the LAN environment from
the internet.

Gigabit Network - Our LAN server environment utilizes gigabit network
speeds. Many companies are still working on "Fast" Ethernet networks (up
to 100 mg. speeds). Our gigabit speeds (1000 mg.) is 10 times faster than
these "Fast" Ethernet networks. This offers significant
server-to-server performance increases over standard "Fast"
Ethernet. In an SOA environment the access to internal web services
are many times done locally, over the LAN network. The internal LAN
speed can be crucial in performance for these types of architectures, and we
have the infrastructure to support these types of speeds. For more

Load Balancing/SSL Acceleration Appliances
- Our server environment includes appliances for clustering multiple servers to support single websites. This
load balancing (clustering) process includes multiple "adaptive" balancing rules
which are enforced for realtime selection of a server to satisfy a given request.
These balancing rules can be configured to be; availability based, round robin based,
weighted round robin, etc.). In addition, website secure SSL activity is handled
by applances which can support in excess of 1000 tps.

Servers
- Our server environment (database servers, application servers, web servers,
etc.) are comprised of many name brand server vendors (Dell, Aberdeen,
etc.). Critical servers include redundant power supplies, RAID-5 disk
striping with hot swap options, redundant network interface cards, mirrored OS
disks, etc. All servers are continuously monitored.

Software
- We utilize the latest Microsoft operating systems and database management
system (DBMS). This includes Windows Server 2003 (with enhanced security)
and SQL Server 2005. Our web servers include IIS 6.0
with its enhanced security and performance (kernel level page caching,
etc.). We also incorporate sophisticated backup software on all of our
servers and we spool our backups to high speed DISK archive arrays to ensure
fast recoveries of all files within the backup.

Disaster Recovery - Snapshot copies of all servers are continually made
and copies are sent offsite. This is done in the unlikely event that a disaster
affects our datacenter. All our server images (including application and
data) are restorable from these offsite backups.
